Barcelona Fundación Joan Brossa

This polymathic artist, Joan Brossa (1919-98) left his fingerprints all over his home city, not only in physical sculptures such as the letters spelling 'Barcino' by the cathedral or the Illusory Clock outside the Poliorama Theatre on La Rambla but also in his vast legacy of poems, theatre plays, tireless campaigning for the Catalan language, the Espai Escènic Joan Brossa theatrical space in the Born, and the founding of the Dau-al-Set avant-garde art movement in 1948.

The permanent collection at the Fundación Joan Brossa fills three white rooms with some 35 of Brossa's visual and object poems along with posters, manuscripts, books and plays along with photographs and screenings of some of his short films.
