Barcelona Museu Diocesà

The Diocesan Museum contains a hotchpotch of religious art, everything from 14th-century alabaster virgins and altarpieces by Bernat Martorell to some wonderful Romanesque murals.

The Diocesan Museum building itself is also something of a mishmash; the Diocesan Museum includes the Gothic Pia Almoina, an almshouse and soup kitchen founded in 1009 and stuck on to a Renaissance canon's residence complete with Tuscan columns, which in turn was built inside an octagonal Roman defence tower.

The Diocesan Museum has space for two temporary exhibitions, usually dedicated to local artists, photographers and architects.
