Barcelona Parc de l'Estació del Nord: Otherwise known as Parc Sol i Ombra (meaning 'Sun and Shadow'), this small but well-used park is perked up by the three pieces of landscape art in glazed blue and white ceramic by New York sculptor Beverly Pepper. Along with a pair of incongruous white stone entrance walls, Espiral Arbrat (Tree Spiral) is a spiral bench set under the cool shade of lime-flower trees, while Cel Caigut (Fallen Sky) is a 7m-high (23ft) ridge rising from the grass. The colourful tilework recalls Gaudí's trencadís smashed-tile technique in Barcelona Parc de l'Estació del Nord.
