Barcelona Museu del Calçat (Shoe Museum)

Barcelona Museu del Calçat (Shoe Museum), housed in what was once part of the medieval shoemakers' guild, this quirky little museum details the cobbler's craft from practical Roman sandals to tottering '70s platform boots - so that's progress. The earlier examples in the Barcelona Museu del Calçat (Shoe Museum) are reproductions, although those from the 17th century to the present day are originals, including clogs, swagged musketeers' boots and even celebrity footwear such as the tiny shoes of diminutive cellist, Pau Casals.
